November 22nd, 2011
For more than 40 years, Rapp Auctions has been one of the most successful companies for the auction sale of stamps, postal history and coins. For about 5 years, the company has intensified its activities on the coin market, which has turned out to be a wise decision. The motto of this year's auction sale, from 21 to 25 November 2011, is "Golden Times", as it is undeniable now: Rapp Auctions will offer by far the largest, most substantial and valuable numismatic range in the company’s history. The contingent of gold coins (more than 2000) is extraordinary. Overall, the coin offer is expected to sell for several million Swiss francs. For the first time, a separate coin catalogue has been produced and published, presenting many important rarities from antiquity, the Middle Ages and modern times. In addition to fine and valuable single items, the range will focus on dozens of very substantial and valuable coin collections and accumulations.

Top-quality single lots
A concentrated, unusually valuable offering of extremely rare philatelic single items that scarcely needs an introduction or recommendation awaits you. As an example of the quality on offer, we need only mention the classic and modern Swiss rarities featuring one of the most beautiful of the known “Dübli” letters, the breast-shield issues in unusually large, rare multiples and superb multicoloured franking. Every single item is of veritably legendary quality, richness and rarity.

Outstanding offering of collections and holdings
Our offering of large, exceptionally valuable collections that have often been assembled over long periods of time is truly impressive and very unusual in this magnitude throughout the entire sector. Connoisseurs will find exquisite special collections that leave little to be desired as well as very valuable investment holdings, and national and regional collections abounding in rarities. As an example, one of the most significant collections in existence of Russian Zemstvo rural stamps and hundreds of other unusually valuable and extensive Swiss, European and overseas collections.
