As an administrative unit, it served as a sort of buffer zone and was strategically important for the German Reich. The economic measures of the Protectorate reflect the complex conditions of the war economy and the efforts of the occupying state to mobilize resources. After the war, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was dissolved and Czechoslovakia was restored. The financial obligations incurred during the occupation had to be re-evaluated and addressed in the post-war order
