There is a huge variety in the numismatics part of the summer auction on the 4th and 5th of July, precious coins and medals are competing with the sun’s brightness. Over 2,500 lots of rare coins, banknotes, medallions, medals, and untouched collections & estates are awaiting participants on both auction days. Thrills are guaranteed in the auction where we are presenting a special catalogue dealing with the “ASSINDIA” collection. With almost 1,000 lots, the range of the collection reaches to the “8-fachen Schautaler” (presentation taler in the weight of 8 talers) of Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Celle, produced by Christian Ludwig in 1664 (Lot 210). In addition a “Glückstaler” (lucky charm) and “Wilde Männer” (wild men) can be picked up as “Löser” (Lots 154 & 217) just as an apparently not yet edited lead “8-fach Löser” (multiple peace in the weight of 8 talers) made by Johann Friedrich from 1670 (Lot 150). We will be starting the auction of this estate with coins from antiquity. Amongst the more than 70 gold coins you will find among others, the Emperor Julius Caesar (Lot 5) as well as Empress Irene (Lot 46). The auction includes outstanding items from antiquity to modern times. Keeping a cool head would definitely prove beneficial as the auction heats up with numerous untouched estates, accumulations and collections.
